Research & Publication Metrics: College of Education

A resource guide for faculty in the College of Education at Clemson University; includes steps for creating a digital identity, finding and evaluating publications, and measuring research impact.

Distinguish Yourself

Creating your Digital Identity

Digital identity encompasses an academic or researcher's online activities, such as research, teaching, and social media, to enhance their professional reputation and impact in the academic community. Your profile in the College of Education directory is often the first impression that researchers and students have of you. Verify that your faculty profile is current and detailed. Include links to your ORCHiD and other profile IDs.

Digital Identifiers

The Open Researcher and Contributor ID provides a unique, persistent digital identifier for researchers that connects them with their research activities and affiliations, enabling proper attribution of authorship, and reducing errors in bibliographic databases.

A Google Scholar profile allows researchers to showcase their publications and research activities in one place, increasing the visibility and impact of their research while simultaneously tracking publication citations.

Faculty Insight is a search engine designed to help faculty members locate experts and funding opportunities within their institution, utilizing pre-populated faculty member profiles featuring recent activity data sourced from Academic Analytics and Clemson’s research office, which can be edited and added to by faculty members themselves.

Web of Science Researcher Profiles enable researchers to create a profile showcasing their publications, citation metrics, and funding information, integrated with the WoS database, facilitating discovery, evaluation, collaboration, and funding opportunities.
