EndNote

As of Fall 2024, Clemson now has a site-wide subscription to EndNote, which you can learn more about at:

https://clemson.libguides.com/endnote

EndNote is a reference and citation management software used to manage bibliographies and references when writing essays and articles. With EndNote you can:

  • Format references in various citation styles

  • Attach PDFs to references

  • Export references from databases

  • Insert citations and compile bibliographies in Microsoft Word and Google Docs

EndNote 21, the latest version of the product, is available for all Clemson faculty, staff, and students to use at no additional cost. The site license also includes access to the upgraded EndNote Web

Installing EndNote

If you have previously used a paid or trial version of EndNote, it must be uninstalled first. It’s recommended that you sync your library with EndNote Online before a new installation.

After EndNote 21 is installed, you can upgrade EndNote Online to EndNote Web. New users should activate their EndNote Web account to enable syncing of reference libraries.

Windows

Unzip both files to a folder before opening the installer.

RefWorks

Clemson maintains a site-wide subscription to RefWorks, which you can learn more about at:

https://clemson.libguides.com/newrefworks

RefWorks is entirely web-based, so no installation is necessary.  Just go to https://refworks.proquest.com/, click Create Account, and use your Clemson email address to create an account and get started.

RefWorks allows you to collect, manage and organize research papers and documents. You can read, annotate, organize, and cite your research as well as collaborate with friends and colleagues by sharing collections.

From simple bibliographies to papers formatted with in-text citations or footnotes, RefWorks handles it all.
