Sources for Checking the Quality of Journals

An interesting database to experiment with finding a journal that might accept a paper for publication. You can enter a title and/or abstract and see what journals have published similar articles (not all publishers are represented.) Information about publication speed, fees and SNIP (Source Normalized Impact per Paper) are included.

Wondering if an email solicitation from a publisher is a scam? You can check here to see if they are on the "Beall's List" of predatory publishers. The original Beall's List ceased in 2017, but it has been archived and is being updated by an anonymous scholar. (The list is only a cautionary guide -- it cannot claim to be comprehensive or authoritative.)
