Clemson University Libraries actively pursue transformative agreements (also known as read and publish agreements) to support open access publishing. These agreements allow Clemson-affiliated authors to publish open access articles in gold or hybrid journals without paying Article Processing Charges (APCs), which are typically required in many publishing models. More information can be found here.
Clemson University Libraries supports faculty in sharing their research openly and quickly, often through institutional repositories or academic networks. Recognizing the value of fully open access (gold OA) journals and the costs authors face, Clemson Libraries offers a dedicated fund to assist with Open Access publishing fees. This initiative aims to increase the visibility of Clemson research and aligns with Clemson Elevate’s goal to double research output by 2035. More information can be found here.
The Scholarly Communication Librarian is available to provide expert guidance on every step of your open access publishing journey. Learn more about her here.
