CUSG LGBTQ+ Engagement Committee"The CUSG LGBTQ+ Engagement Committee was formally recognized in 2017 and is housed within the Student Body President’s cabinet. The committee was founded with three goals: 1) Strengthen the Queer Community, 2) Make Clemson More LGBTQ+ Friendly - Increase Clemson’s Campus Pride Index Score, and 3) Raise Awareness about LGBTQ Issues. All undergraduate students are able to interview for the committee at the beginning of each semester. Historically, the committee has worked toward the inclusion of gender identity in the campus non-discrimination policy, crafted and arts and literature publication, hosted queer trivia nights, and brought organizations like AID Upstate to campus to provide free rapid HIV/STI testing. This year the committee is even more ambitious; projects include crafting an LGBTQ+ student resource guide, hosting Lunch and Learn sessions, participating in planning for Lavender Hall, and completing a campus climate survey."
