The most widely accepted guidelines for writing in the social sciences are contained in the American Psychological Association's manual.
The American Political Science Association (APSA) has also published a brief style manual, available from their website.
It relies on the Chicago Manual of Style in matters of editorial style.
Many databases provide citations for the articles they list. You must click first on the article title in the results list, then on Cite to to see examples you can copy & paste into your bibliography. In JSTOR, click View Citation.
Come to the Library Services Desk in Cooper Library's lobby for these printed manuals.
