Student-Athlete Research Guide

Sometimes student-athletes get so caught up in their busy schedules that they don't realize they there are lots of resources they have at their disposal.

This Research Guide is created with the intent to complement the resources that are provided by Athletic Academic Support Department with resources and services that the library provides.

Coop's Best Kept Secrets

The library offers a number of surprising services and resources that can help you succeed while at Clemson:

  • Research help is available if you have a project and don't know where to start.
    • Schedule a Research Consultation with Karen Burton, your research librarian, for help getting started, choosing a topic, finding articles, books, data, and primary sources, citing sources, and more.  You can meet with a librarian in the library but also online or by phone.  So if you're on the road, this is still an option.
    • Contact Cooper Library https://libraries.clemson.edu/ask/
  • Group study space
    • Need to meet with your group?  Reserve a group study room in Cooper Library.  201A is perfect for practicing presentations or holding a meeting.
  • Equipment to borrow - DSLR Cameras, XBox games,  phone chargers, graphing calculators, dry erase markers
    • Don't want to buy a new camera?  Forgot your charger?  Stop by the Library Services Desk on the main floor and check one out for free.  You'll just need your Tiger1 card.
  • CCIT Help Desk
    • Got a problem with your laptop?  Stop by the Help Desk on the 2nd floor and they'll take care of most of your computer problems.
  • Print/Copy/Scan
    • You can print from any computer in the building, including yours.  Use your Tiger1 card to print. Scanners are available at no cost.
  • Food in the library
    • Coming to study hall straight from practice?  It's ok to bring dinner.  All we ask is that you throw away your trash and let a staff member know if you spill anything.
  • Quality Resources at your Fingertips
    • Have a look at our HUGE list of places to look for articles that go beyond a plain old Google Search. This is millions of dollars worth of research available to you for free!
